Last week D and I made our second visit down to Cateye Glasses Studio in Cape Girardeau, folks, from a Mom with two “artsy” kids I am so excited Cateye Glasses Studio has opened up in here. 

Often when we think art we think about those typical art galleries that we have to be quiet in or the old man will shhhh us.  NOPE, Cateye Glasses Studio is not only for adults, but it has great place for kids and a lot of programs designed just for kids…busy kids like mine!

In the historical town of Independence, MO located just outside of Kansas City, you can make history come to life and enjoy history as a family. Independence has a unique Mormon history, many of the frontier settlers passed through here, and Independence was home to our 33^rd President Harry S Truman "The Buck Stops Here."

The Harry S Truman Library and Museum brings history down to a child’s level. A majority of the Truman Library and Museum is aimed toward the older visitors and bringing the history and events surrounding the Truman Presidency. However, tucked away on the lower level of the museum is the “Harry S. Truman: His Live and Times” exhibit. This area is perfectly designed to enlighten the brains of those who are not old enough to remember Truman’s famous line “Buck Stops Here”. There is four interactive stations giving children the opportunity to learn what it was like when Truman was a Postmaster. Children can make their own campaign buttons, unlock the secrets to Harry Truman’s jobs, and dress up and pretend to be President Truman.  Continue to read more

Beautiful Cape Girardeau, MO is located just a few hours south of St Louis, MO. This historic town was founded in 1793, and while it old it is still bursting with many family friendly attractions.

Lazy L Safari is a Walk-Thru Zoo that houses fifty different species of exotic animals. Many of the animals are hands-on meaning you have the opportunity to feed and pet the animals. You can get up close and personal with the pygmy goats, or watch the antelope and zebras frolic through the fields. The zoo is in a country setting, picnic lunches are welcome and suggested, and new animals arrive yearly. Lazy L Safari is open daily Memorial Day thru Labor Day, but only opens on weekends in the months of April, May, September, and October. Discovery Playhouse is the perfect indoor escape for the tots in your gang. This 7,500 square foot children’s museum is full of simple yet educational fun. Children can experience what is like to grocery shop, work at a bank, go to the dentist or be the dentist, and work on a Grandma Ruth’s Farm.
