All About Us

Becky’s Life:

After being a Mommy, travel blogger, and housekeeper; I enjoy running, but I often say that I am running away from life.  Not one person in my family enjoys running, so it is the only way I can escape them.  I wish I could call myself one of those pretty and skinny gym rats, but that would only me feel worse about myself.  I do however click in at one of the local gyms daily mostly to catch up on the gossip and see what real gym rats look like.  I DO NOT fit into the gym rat category; I would say I am the mommy with “curves”.

I do not watch much TV, cannot tell you what GLEE or American Idol really is, the only show I really follow is the Good Wife. You could call me a radio freak, or Ipod addict.  I am constantly listening to music, downloading tunes, and putting my ear buds in…so I can ignore what is really going on around me. 

Politics, economics, and society….I have my own opinions sometimes I might share, most of the time I leave it out.  I am very passionate about small communities and admire many small communities that strive to survive and pull together as a community.  When you see me say I have fallen in LOVE with that town, it’s because I admire the way love each other. 

The Sidekicks:

My daughter Lesse, aka THE SURPRISE!  Yep she was my surprise baby, to be honest I never planned to have children, but the forces from above planned it for me.  She has a sense of humor like no-other, is very very intelligent …which often gets her in trouble, and spends her days tormenting her brother.  The loves of her life CURRENTLY (may change tomorrow) is cheerleading..just mastered her back walk over (whatever that is), horses, and whatever hit kiddy pop star is big at the moment.   Most IMPORTANTLY, she is the official bathroom inspector of our home, and refuses to use outhouses….yep I add that to every blog post possible.  One day I know she will either thank me or hate me!

The Boy, D-man, My little man is like no other!  I call him a womanizer and he is on a Cougar Hunt.  He has a deep love for older women, he recently told me “Mom I don’t like babies, but I like their Mommas” which is probably very true.  He has a sly way about him; he often plays with girls at preschool, but not cause he wants to be a girl, because he likes the girls to be pretty…PLEASE!  I tell people that I have made him a Mommy’s boy on purpose, so that I know I have someone to take care of me when I am old and wrinkly.  Every day I tell him your mommy is the best, and I think he sort of believes me! D-man's loves are obviously his MOMMY, girls, tractors, 4-wheeler, and his dog Wheeler…I do believe his loves are set in stone!

The Adventures:

I first began blogging after many of my friends would call, text, or nag me to find out where that amazing place I took my kids was.  I finally caved and said FINE I WILL START A BLOG!  Well it turned into a hobby, then an addiction, now I often say it is my LIFE…hey I love it almost as much as my family! 

The real truth about the adventures I HATE SITTING STILL…I HATE WINTER…I HATE BOREDOM.  Yep, I force my kids to busy busy busy…and I have forced them to love it!  I also dislike going to the same old places that everyone else goes, I cannot even remember the last time I took the kids to the movie theater  bowling alley,  I will also say I am no nature expert even though we spend most of our time outdoors.  I do however have a firm belief that fresh air exhaust kids, so I use that to my advantage.  I also believe lots of physical activity makes them sleep good at night, dirt is good for their health, and meeting new people keeps them diversified.

NOTE:  Some of our stories prior to the summer of 2012 included the kid's father Ryan.  Ryan and I separated in the spring of 2012, he remains active in the kid's life, but they now have their own adventures.
